JUNG founder's villa

The former residence of company founder Albrecht Jung in Schalksmรผhle has been given a new function as a think tank and meeting and service centre for the JUNG brand. The historic villa from 1928 was renovated and extended with a modern pavilion by the architects NGA Nehse & Gerstein BDA from Hanover as part of an open architectural competition. However, the building does not play the role of a showroom, but serves as a multifunctional office, event and residential building. During the refurbishment and operation, the values of responsibility, attitude and efficiency took centre stage.

JUNG founder's villa turns into a modern communication centre

The building concept by Philipp Nehse and Patrick Gerstein combines the historic villa with a modern extension. The villa was respectfully restored to its original state, with additional workspaces created in the former basement. The interior design combines light wooden floors, a coordinated colour concept and minimalist details.

New building and design

The sleek new building stands out from the villa in terms of design with exposed concrete, glass and a cassette roof. A sculptural steel staircase connects the buildings. The counter hall, a large room for flexible use, characterises the sense of space through its construction and materials. The architecture unites past and future in a clear language.

Technical equipment and colour scheme

On the ground floor of the villa, switches, sockets and push-buttons from the Les Couleursยฎ Le Corbusier range were chosen to match the wall colours: vert anglais pรขle (32042) in the meeting room, vert anglais clair (320412) in the fireplace room, blanc ivoire (4320B) in the foyer and stairwell, and gris clair (32013) in the cloakroom and entrance hall. 500 light points, controlled by DALI gateways and motion detectors, ensure lighting comfort and energy efficiency. PV modules are installed on the roof of the villa, which supply wallboxes for electric vehicles via a battery storage system.
